وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ مِسْكِيناً وَيَتِيماً وَأَسِيراً - إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لاَ نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءً وَلاَ شُكُوراً

And those who for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan and the captive. (Saying): "We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks''. (Al-Insaan 76: 8, 9)

Alsabeel with the cooperation with ICNA Relief team and help in serving warm meals to the homeless and hungry people of the city of San Francisco. 

In San Francisco, the food was packaged at Masjid Noor Al Islam by many children and sisters and was distributed at Market street near City hall. 

It is a humbling experience to see people hungry and waiting in line and later thanking for the food with a smile. All praise belongs to Allah who is the creator and sustainer of all. Many of  the food recipient were pleasantly surprised seeing muslims distributing the food. Many tourist and visitors stopped by to thank the volunteers for this.

One of them made a comment that he has always seen christens distributing the food and was seeing muslims doing this first time. He was told that ICNA Relief with the cooperation of Alsabeel Masjid Noor Al-Islam is doing it at least on monthly basis now at civic Center.

Many people picked up Quran and WhyIslam brochures and inquired about Islam and our faith. Volunteers gladly answered the questions.
